The Children's Area has been moved toward the front of the book area. Fiction shelves are ringed around the children's area allowing parents the freedom to browse while still being able to see their chldren. |
|
|
The Non-Fiction area has expanded to two large U-shaped areas at the back of the bookstore. These two areas allow a better view of the books than we had previously with narrow aisles. The complete bookstore has only one aisle, with the science fiction and mystery books, but even this aisle has been expanded to four feet wide, allow multiple browsers and wheelchair access. |

|
The cookbooks, decorating, crafts and gardening sections have been moved into the new storefront allowing more opportunity for display and the ability to feature special books. |

Volunteers:
Volunteers are needed to work as bookstore cashiers.
- Help with book sales
- Operate the cash register
- Assist with sorting, pricing and shelving books
Shifts are generally 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and Saturdays and 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
Shorter shifts are available for persons who want to help with pricing and shelving only.
We are always in need of several volunteers who can work on an on-call basis to help deal with large donations.
We also sort donated and withdrawn books at the library on Thursday mornings and transport the books to the bookstore - help is always welcome on our sorting crew.
If you are interested in volunteering, please e-mail the Friends Used Bookstore at the address at the bottom of this page, or submit a volunteer application. You may also visit the bookstore on any Thursday when our manager and/or the volunteer coordinator are available.
