Book Donation Guidelines

Please bring donations to the Used Book Store any time the store is open.
It is our mission to create a strong funding source for the library, and that means carrying gently used quality books. Donations are our life blood, and we love receiving good used books, games, puzzles, DVDs, and CDs, but please consider when donating -- Would you purchase the donated item in its current condition?

Please note: There is a new policy for larger donations (over 3 boxes). We will go through the boxes to determine what we can accept based on condition and subject. Please review our donation policy below before donating.
When damaged, musty books are brought in, it is up to us to throw them out. Please go through your donations first before bringing them in.

We accept most donations, but there are a few exceptions:
  • encyclopedia sets, Readers Digest books, or Time-Life
  • most magazines (although we do accept woodworking, quilting, fine cooking, and fishing magazines)
  • books with torn or missing pages, water or smoke damage, or musty smell
  • textbooks
  • medical or technical books more than 5 years old
  • books with underlining or highlighting
  • VHS or cassette tapes
  • puzzles or games with missing pieces
Please don't leave donated books outside of the book store when the store is closed.
Thank you for your continued support of the library.
